Jack Tackle (United States)

Jack
Tackle has lived in Bozeman Montana for most of his life. He grew up in the mountains
fishing and hunting with his father, who was a research scientist for the
Forest Service.
It wasn't until the middle of university, just before his 20th birthday, that he
discovered technical climbing.
Over the past 25 years, Jack Tackle has pursued all types
of climbing, in many different ranges of the world- always maintaining an eye on alpine
style climbing of new routes. Although he has climbed extensively in the Himalayas and
South America, he is best known for his climbing in Alaska, where he has done 23 separate
trips since 1976. Jack is also a Board Member of the Polartec Challenge.
