The Meadow
Germany, 2006, 45 minutes
Directed by Jan Haft
Produced by Tom Synnatzschke
A flower meadow’s ocean of colours and fragile shapes offers a genuine paradise to countless species of animals. Some live underground, some among the blades of grass; still others populate the colourful “canopy.” Shot in high definition with special lenses, luxurious time lapse, and animations, the film shows the development of a meadow from the ice ages until today. It is a magical trip full of surprises.

Al filo de lo imposible: GIV, GIII — Gigantes olvidados (Forgotten Giants)
Spain, 2008, 42 minutes
Directed by Sebastián Álvaro
Produced by Santiago Campo
“G4 is a peak that rises majestically and haughtily, almost to provoke and challenge people like me.” Walter Bonatti’s words explain why these forgotten giants — Gasherbrum IV (7925 m) and Gasherbrum III (7952 m) — are so attractive. GIV may be the most beautiful mountain in the Karakoram, the only one that can shade the huge mass of K2. GIll remained unclimbed since its first ascent in 1975 by a Polish team led by Wanda Rutkiewicz. Almost 50 years after Bonatti’s expedition, Jon Beloki, Alberto Iñurrategi, and José Carlos Tamayo decide to tackle these two powerful, inaccessible giants.
