Sandra Brown
Sandra is a Senior Research Fellow, jointly appointed
between the Institute for Resources and Environment,
University of British Columbia, and Communities and
Watersheds at the International Center for Tropical
Agriculture in Colombia. Her research interests are
land-water interactions, linking biophysical and
socio-economic approaches, and the use of innovative
technologies in teaching and research. Sandra works
extensively in watershed management in mountain regions
both within Canada and internationally. She has worked
in the Himalayan and Andean Mountains including projects
in Nepal, China, Bhutan, Colombia, Peru, and Bolivia.
Sandra is co-author of numerous multimedia CD-ROMs
including: "Water in International Development, Gender
and Resources in the Middle Mountains of Nepal", and
"Integrated Watershed Management". Sandra has developed
and delivered numerous educational programs including
courses on Watershed Management, Geographic Information
Systems (GIS), Environmental Sensitive Area Assessment,
Soil and water conservation and Hypermedia design.
