Judy Otton
Judy's longstanding professional involvement in
protected areas planning and management began in 1982.
She has held a variety of park planning and managerial
positions with Parks Canada, ranging from Chief of
Visitor Services at Yoho National Park, to Senior Park
Planner for the Rocky Mountain national parks, and
acting Assistant Superintendent at Banff National Park.
The bulk of her time was devoted to completing
management plans for Banff, Jasper, Yoho and Waterton
Lakes national parks. Since leaving Parks Canada in
1996, Judy has been in demand as an environmental
planning consultant. Her clients have included the towns
of Banff and Canmore, Parks Canada, the Alberta
Government, the G8 Legacy project and private
landowners. She has also been an active volunteer for
local conservation efforts such as the Bow Valley
Special Places initiative, and chaired Canmore’s
Environmental Advisory Review Committee.
