Brent Ritchie’s research and professional interests are in the field of travel and tourism. Dr. Ritchie holds the Professorship of Tourism Management in the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary. He also serves as Chair of the University’s World Tourism Education and Research Centre. He was elected as the Founding Chair of the World Tourism Organization’s Tourism Education Council in 2001.

Dr. Ritchie also has extensive professional and industry relationships. For example, he has served as President of the Travel & Tourism Research Association; President of the Travel Industry Association of Alberta; Chair of the Calgary Convention & Visitors Bureau; and Member of the National Task Force for the Study of the Banff Bow Valley Region.
