Thomas Bartl: Fall Foliage

Thomas Bartl: Fall Foliage

“Even the drive from Chattanooga up to the bouldering area called Little Rock City was mind-blowing. Our eyes were glued to the windshield and enjoyed the spectacle of the colours. Arriving at Little Rock City we ran through the rock corridors and literally froze, as we turned around the corner looking at this boulder. The whole place was bathed in red light.”

Thomas Bartl is a self-taught photographer from Austria. He started shooting photos at the same time as climbing, and it is always difficult for him to decide whether going to the mountains is for climbing or taking pictures. His images are published in several international climbing magazines, websites, and catalogues, and the new Austrian climbing magazine Climax, in particular, pushes him forward in his work.
