2009 Banff Mountain Photography Competition
Special Mention
Jordan Manley: Untitled
“The intent of this shot was to firstly show a unique perspective, and secondly to depict the relationship mountain bikers on the West Coast have with the water cycle. The high volume of rain produces a unique environment to move through, and subsequently a different type of riding. Technically, the shot was the most difficult image I have ever tried to achieve, involving a fairly elaborate setup. No, there is no Photoshop involved.”
Jordan Manley is a Vancouver-based outdoor adventure photographer, with a focus on skiing and mountain biking. He is passionate about photographing the people who live, work, and move through mountains. His work appears around the globe and he is a senior photographer with Powder magazine.
