Luz Cotacachi is the manager of Mindala Export Cargo and Courier office in Otavalo county and has been working with indigenous traditional handicrafts for ten years. When she was 17 years old, her parents encouraged her to research the recovery of ancient designs for use in Northern Ecuadorian Indigenous handicrafts for export. Today she is an indigenous designer, offering beautiful and innovative Indian wool and cotton knitted wear. As well, she is researching and preserving the traditional songs of the grandmothers to prevent their disappearance with generational change.
